About Me
My story

I got into the world of tech near the end of 2019, coming off the back of a 10 year coaching career, I was searching for something that was more challenging for me.

I enrolled in a 16 week coding bootcamp with DigitalCrafts in January 2020. I learned the fundamentals of HTML/CSS/JavaScript, as well as Node, React and Redux. I also learned about Express and Postgres.

After my bootcamp I landed an apprenticeship with gitBabel, where I am still working now.

Engineering Apprentice

  • Updated the marketing site, built with NEXT.JS, with a more modern theme and appealing UI
  • Took Figma design concepts to execution, developing reusable components in Storybook, and following atomic design practices.

  • Lead coach for two USA Swimming Top 100 performers and eight Texas State Championship qualifiers
  • Coordinated Learn to Swim program including sign-ups, billing, communication and scheduling

  • Served as lead coach for team’s core age group training group (Silver).
  • Created a season plan, led practices, handled meet entries, and facilitated group dryland sessions
  • 91% Best times at 2015 MN ROC Regionals (61/67 swims).
  • Developed 3 first-time State qualifiers in my first calendar season with the group.
  • Served as co-coach of our Regional/High Performance group with team’s head coach (ages 13 and up).
  • Administrative duties: tracking individual yardage, test set results, USRPT results and distance parametrics.
  • Co-Coached a Minnesota Swimming Male Age Group Athlete of the Year award finalist.

  • Coached three practice sessions per day and worked extensively with both men's and women's teams.
  • Created and maintained an extensive recruiting database covering seven states for potential 2014/2015 recruits.
  • Facilitated all UWL home dual meets using Daktronics and Meet Manager software.
  • Constructed scouted reports to help prepare lineups for dual meets and invitationals.
  • Negotiated and managed food arrangements for the team during all away meets.
